It is unknown why Epic Games decided to make weekly quests temporary perhaps it was due to the fact that some players wouldn't complete them all season long, and then they'd get through them in a flash before the season came to an end. Unfortunately, weekly quests that were already made unavailable will not be returning, but it's great to know that they won't disappear after the update.

Epic Games has now taken care of this controversy with update v23.30 and made it, so weekly quests would stick around until the very end of the season.

It made weekly quests much more difficult than they were before, and it certainly added more pressure to get through them. The change mostly received negative feedback from the Fortnite community. This meant that players either had to get through all the quests within a week of their release, or they would miss out on receiving the much-needed XP. Until Epic Games decided to make them temporary at the start of Chapter 4 Season 1. Weekly quests would always be around for the entirety of the season, they were season-long tasks just like Fortnite Milestone Goals. Completing multiple quests grants players tons of experience points, which help increase their level weekly. These quests were always a great way for players to level up their Battle Pass without only playing Battle Royale matches and grinding for XP. Ever since the start of the game, Fortnite has had weekly quests they come out every Tuesday at 9 AM ET. This season, Epic Games made Fortnite's weekly quests temporary, but after some fan backlash, Epic has now reverted this change.
